Hyperloop – The Futuristic Transportation

You’ve just got a weekend with you but you really want to come around the world once. Would that be even possible earlier? Well, it will be in the near future. With the Hyperloop concept proposed by Elon Musk being developed seriously, it’s time for the next wave of futuristic transportation to become real.

Hyperloop was based on the very high-speed transit system which was proposed late back in 1972. Though not exactly the same, we could consider Hyperloop as an advanced model of VHST. So, this is how Hyperloop works. The system would consist of pods or containers that travel through tubes from which air has been completely sucked out making it a vacuum space facilitating high-speed transportation. Magnetic levitation & almost no friction would make the pods possible to reach the speeds of 760 mph.

It all started when SpaceX CEO proposed the idea when speaking at an event in California which would be of low power consumption and quite faster than the existing means. The task of bringing a Hyperloop into existence has been made open source and there has been a lot of competition between companies since then. Companies have been working to make it eco-friendly by using solar energy.

The global warming is getting heated up like never before due to the conventional means of transport. The fluctuating price of fuels, the over-crowded road traveling, carbon emissions have all taken a toll on humanity and it is believed that Hyperloop could put an end to all this.

There are around 30 Hyperloop routes proposed around the world with Hyperloop One working on the most. In India, Andhra Pradesh is among the first to get the Hyperloop Route between Vijayawada and Amaravati. There are 5 other Hyperloop routes proposed in India. Reports state that it costs somewhere between $11.5m - $121m per mile.

Hyperloop could be a greater step in helping us find a solution to certain global issues we face right now such as global warming, fuel price fluctuation and lots more to mention. Being a safe mode of transportation and the fact that it consumes very less power, Hyperloop promises to be an optimistic advancement that is about to happen in our lives.
